Agenda

Gresham College hosted the second Long Finance event of 2010 yesterday afternoon, as 65 people gathered to partake in a roundtable discussion inspired by David Steven’s recent research paper "Time to Stop Betting the House". Chaired by Michael Mainelli, the panel included David Steven (Global Dashboard), Faisal Islam (Economics correspondent for Channel 4) and Con Keating. Topics of discussion included regulation, the comparative international housing markets in America, Japan, France and Germany, taxation and the role society has played in fostering the housing market bubble.

After an hour of vigorous debate attendees joined the panelists for further discussion over a glass of wine in the 400 year old college, an eminently suitable location in which to continue the Long Finance debate.
