An outline of the ESG issues responsible investors should consider when looking at the forestry sector and, by association the pulp and paper industry in East, South and Southeast Asia. The current state of forests in Asia is analysed with an assessment of the products and industry sectors in the market looking at the sustainability of forest product users. Ways to finance sustainable forestry are considered. A benchmarking survey of 26 Asian forestry companies is presented measured against publicly disclosed ESG indicators.
