Document summary

Providing Japan’s situation remains a natural disaster rather than a nuclear disaster, supply and demand disruptions are expected to prove short-lived and the impact to S&P500 EPS to be minimal. An extended US and global capex cycle is set to drive EPS growth. Japan in addition to the Middle East situation adds to the need for higher investment in energy production and energy efficiency longer term. This should lead to higher energy capex and investment spending.
