In this report, Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux highlights the tension for land, particularly between food production and agro-based fuels. The study examines the sources of tension, viz. inventories, demand, energy demand, consumer behaviour rather than demographic trends, climate change, pressure on land resources, and speculation, as well as the various "balancing" factors of price signals, trade, regulation, land supply, demand and yield. The report concludes with some hard-hitting conclusions on the impact for food suppliers and agro-suppliers right through to the consumer.?
