Document summary

Asia Pacific corporates are seriously concerned about the impact of climate change on their industries and are preparing to tackle increasing legislation aimed at curbing GHG emissions. According to survey results only a minority of companies demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory/physical risks of climate change; the most carbon-intensive sectors in the region are utilities, energy and materials with Japan, China and South Korea producing the biggest emissions; nearly half of respondents already perform direct emissions forecasting to determine future carbon liabilities and build carbon-management strategies; respondents believed Asia Pacific’s current/evolving regulatory/physical environment could lead to several investment/research opportunities.
