Document summary

Given the global political non-consensus regarding climate change and the absence of a vision for the future amongst the political elites, there is very little chance for the required energy transformation in a reasonable timeframe to stabilise greenhouse gas emissions that would limit CO2 concentration below the 350 ppm. In this report, SolAbility suggests that businesses will need to develop their own strategy and formulate answers to deal with the increasing impacts of climate change - mainly the increase of frequency and ferocity of extreme weather events on supply and resource constraints, operations, market access and possible declining economy - and significant rising energy costs. This report presents the analysis and quantifies the impacts of climate change and rising energy costs on different sectors to 2040 under three possible scenarios.
