Document summary

When researching countries the main focus of sustainability analysis is resource availability and its efficient usage: important factors for the global economy and individual countries. Sovereign bonds carry the promise of future payment and augmenting traditional credit ratings with environmental and social criteria has already paid off. The performance of the sovereign bonds of sustainable countries has been better than average for both mature and emerging economies. This trend is expected to continue as only those countries with high resource availability and/or efficient use of resources will be successful and productive long-term, consistently meeting their sovereign liabilities.
