In this extended powerpoint presentation, BBVA examine the value in looking at corporate investment opportunities through the lens of alignment with the SDGs. The conclusion is that poor SDG alignment can be linked to reputational, operational, regulatory or physical risks, while revenue exposure to sectors and/or products aligned with SDG solutions can be linked to future growth opportunities. Applying an SDG lens to the evaluation of corporates can provide a broader, more long-term perspective on potential business and social value, particularly where such value goes beyond the immediate P&L. Furthermore, companies, which provide enhanced disclosure, can articulate to market participants how their investments are providing incremental value.
