Document summary
Several perspectives of a low-carbon economy from overall policy implications to the company level are outlined. These are: an overview of the mainly uncertain policy context at global level arising out of the Copenhagen Conference, December 2009; the vision of a low-carbon economy with the main strategies and entry points for decarbonising the economy; identifying GHG emission intensities as a risk/opportunity factor for economic sectors and highlighting sectors with high mitigation potential; implications of a low-carbon economy for companies; and an outline of the role of financial markets and implications for investors.
